Wet macular degeneration is when abnormal blood vessels under the macula in the eye start to become larger. These blood vessels will then leak blood and other fluids. Dry macular degeneration is when the cells in the retina that are sensitive to light simply break down. They just dont work anymore and this is why dry macular degeneration is not repairable through surgery.
